Pronajímatel

The landlord, the owner of the property who rents it out under a Czech lease.

The pronajímatel doesn't always live in the building or even in Prague. Many flats are owned by people in other cities or abroad. They handle the contract, collect rent, and are responsible for major repairs.

By Czech law, the pronajímatel cannot enter the flat without the tenant's permission (except in emergencies), cannot raise rent more than 20% in three years, and must give a minimum 3-month notice to terminate a lease (except for serious tenant breaches).
