Výpovědní lhůta

The Czech notice period for terminating a lease, typically 3 months for the landlord, can be shorter for the tenant depending on contract terms.

Výpovědní lhůta is the time between giving notice and the lease actually ending. By default, Czech law sets it at 3 months for both sides, starting from the first day of the month after the notice is delivered.

Some contracts allow shorter notice for the tenant (1 or 2 months). The landlord almost always faces the full 3-month notice unless the tenant breaches the contract. In serious cases (rent unpaid for 3+ months, damaging the flat) the landlord can terminate with no notice.
