Create a Squad and apply for a flat together
A Squad is a group of compatible people applying as one. Hosts see a single bundled application, which doubles your odds of getting a 3+kk in a competitive market.
What a Squad is
A Squad is a group of 2–10 people, formed in the Roommate role, who want to find housing together. You pool budgets, unlock better apartments together, and apply as a single team rather than five separate strangers. Hosts evaluate a Squad as one tenant package.
Three Squad types
- Private, invite-only. No one can find you in Explore. Best when you're forming with people you already know.
- Open, public; anyone can browse Explore → Squads and join directly. Best when you want growth and don't want to gate-keep.
- Semi-Open, public, with approval. Shows a Request to Join button, and the admin approves or rejects.
Creating a Squad: the 3-step wizard
From /create-squad, you'll walk through three steps:
- Type, pick Private, Open, or Semi-Open.
- Configuration, housing target (layout 1+kk through 5+), budget per person (5,000–50,000 CZK), move-in timeframe, preferred districts.
- Setup, name, description (up to 300 characters), up to 8 tags, and prompt questions for applicants (Semi-Open and Open Squads use these to filter join requests).
Available tags
Pick up to 8 from this list, they help the right people find your Squad and give applicants a quick read on who you are:
- Professional, Students, Creative, Tech, Healthcare, Finance, Clean Living, Social, Quiet, Pet Friendly, Fitness, Cooking.
Roles inside a Squad
- Admin, the person who created the Squad. Can invite members, approve/reject requests, remove members, set preferences, suggest properties, and dissolve the Squad.
- Members, read-only on settings. Can suggest and vote on properties; can leave at any time without affecting others.
Captain (the admin) is the default applicant of record. If they need to step out, captaincy can be transferred to another member.
Budget and timeline
Before applying to anything, agree on a budget range and a target move-in window inside the Squad. The platform pre-fills both into every application, so it's worth getting them right once.
Common mistake: agreeing on a "total budget" without agreeing on how it splits per person. Squads that haven't resolved "who pays what for the bigger room" tend to stall after the first viewing.
Per-member tracking when you apply
When a Squad applies, the Track Application page gets two tabs, Squad Overview (per-member badges and document status) and Track Application (the pipeline). Steps that need each member to act separately (sign contract, upload payment) show a counter like "Rental Contract Signed (2/3)".

Frequently asked questions
Can a Squad have more than 10 people?
No, the maximum is 10. Beyond that, the coordination overhead makes the Squad lose its value, and most hosts won't accept applications from groups that large.
Can I be in multiple Squads at once?
Yes, but you can only apply for one property at a time from one Squad. Useful for hedging, you can be in a tight-knit private Squad with friends and also browse Open Squads as backup.
What happens if the captain leaves?
Captaincy automatically transfers to the next-oldest member. The Squad continues; preferences and pending applications are preserved. The new captain can re-transfer if they don't want the role.
