What DomuHQ can notify you about

Notification preferences live under Settings → Notifications. There are four toggles, one per type:

  • New Messages, when someone DMs you or replies in a thread.
  • New Matches, when a high-compatibility roommate joins or updates their profile.
  • Listing Updates, status changes on your applications, listings you've saved, and viewing reminders.
  • Marketing Communications, product news, tips, and occasional promotions (off by default).

One toggle per type

Each type has a single toggle, on or off. There aren't separate controls for email, push, or SMS, so you can't mute one channel while keeping another. We chose this to keep notification settings simple and predictable.

What you can't fully mute

A short list of critical transactional alerts always reach you regardless of these toggles: account security (sign-in from new device, password change), payment failure, and identity-verification outcome. That's a regulatory and account-safety guardrail.

Marketing notifications are opt-in and you can toggle them off any time. Toggling marketing off does not affect transactional notifications. Every marketing email also has a one-click unsubscribe link in the footer.

Step-by-step

  1. 1

    Open Settings

    5 seconds

Tap your avatar in the top-right, then Settings. On mobile, this is under the menu icon.

  2. 2

    Go to Notifications

    5 seconds

In the settings sidebar, pick Notifications. You'll see one toggle per notification type.

  3. 3

Toggle each type on or off

    30 seconds

Flip the toggles to match what you want to hear about. A common starter setup: New Messages on, New Matches on, Listing Updates on, Marketing off.
